Anonymous is the third studio album by experimental rock supergroup Tomahawk, released in 2007 via Ipecac Recordings. Departing from their usual sound, the album is a concept piece built around Native American compositions researched by guitarist Duane Denison during tours of Indian reservations. The title nods to the anonymity of the original composers, whose transcriptions—often simple nose flute melodies with handclaps—were reimagined with aggressive, atmospheric arrangements. With Mike Patton on vocals and electronics, and John Stanier on drums, the trio crafted a haunting, genre-blending tribute that’s part ethnographic remix, part avant-rock detour.
