The Byrds were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1964. They are considered one of the most influential rock acts of their era, known for their clear harmony singing and the jangly 12-string Rickenbacker guitar sound of frontman Roger McGuinn. The band's original lineup included McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke.
The Byrds pioneered the musical genre of folk rock by blending the influence of the Beatles and other British Invasion bands with contemporary and traditional folk music. Their hit singles "Turn!
