Killing Joke is a British rock band formed in 1979 in Notting Hill, London. Their music blends post-punk, industrial rock, and gothic rock, influencing bands like Metallica, Nirvana, and Nine Inch Nails. They gained mainstream success with their 1985 album Night Time, featuring the hit "Love Like Blood".
The band has had a lasting impact on alternative music, with their heavy, atmospheric sound and politically charged lyrics. Their lineup has seen changes over the years, but Jaz Coleman (vocals), Paul Ferguson (drums), and Youth (bass) have remained key members. Sadly, co-founding guitarist Kevin ‘Geordie’ Walker passed away in 2023, leaving the band's future uncertain.
