Northern Exposure is an American comedy-drama television series that aired on CBS from July 12, 1990, to July 26, 1995. The show follows Dr. Joel Fleischman, a New York City native who is unexpectedly assigned to practice medicine in the quirky, remote town of Cicely, Alaska. Initially frustrated by his situation, Fleischman gradually becomes entangled in the lives of the town’s eccentric residents.
The series was created by Joshua Brand and John Falsey, who were also behind other acclaimed shows like St. Elsewhere.
