Mojave 3 is a British rock band that emerged from the shoegaze group Slowdive after they were dropped by their record label in 1995. The band was founded by Neil Halstead (vocals, guitar), Rachel Goswell (vocals, bass), and Ian McCutcheon (drums), later joined by Simon Rowe (guitar) and Alan Forrester (keyboard).
Unlike Slowdive’s dreamy, atmospheric sound, Mojave 3 shifted towards a dream pop, indie rock, folk, and alternative country style. Their debut album, "Ask Me Tomorrow" (1995), showcased a stripped-down, melancholic sound that set them apart from the Britpop movement of the time.
The band went on hiatus in 2008, but briefly returned for live performances in 2011. However, they ultimately ceased activity after Halstead and Goswell reformed Slowdive.
