Jammie Dodgers are a beloved British biscuit made of two shortcake layers sandwiched with a fruity jam filling—usually raspberry or strawberry. First created in the 1960s by Burton’s Biscuit Company, they were named after Roger the Dodger, a character from The Beano comic. Despite being marketed as a children’s treat, they’ve long been a nostalgic favourite among adults too.
They’ve appeared in pop culture too most famously in Doctor Who, where the Eleventh Doctor used one as a bluff against a Dalek.
