Electro Hippies were a thrashcore and crust punk band from St Helens/Wigan, England, active between 1985 and 1989. Their music was raw, fast, and politically charged, often addressing animal rights and vegetarianism. They embraced the DIY ethic common in early crust punk and were supported by John Peel, recording a Peel Session in 1987. Their discography includes albums like The Only Good Punk... Is A Dead One (1987) and Live (1989), and they even collaborated with Napalm Death on a split single. Though short-lived, their influence can be seen in later grindcore and hardcore punk bands.
